Test of Time is an original mixed media artwork on paper, featuring a fist-like rock rising from the middle of heavy surf and breaking waves, with textured water that seems to drip down from the surface of the paper.

At the center of the composition stands the rock: powerful, compact and almost defiant in shape. Its form suggests a clenched fist, as if nature itself is making a quiet gesture of strength. Around it, the sea surges and crashes in restless motion.

The waves are built up with textured mixed media layers, giving the water a tactile, almost physical presence. In the foreground, the surf appears to run and drip downward, blurring the line between image and material. The sea does not sit still on the paper. It seems to keep moving.

That tension between solidity and movement is at the heart of Test of Time.

For me, Test of Time is about endurance, resilience and the kind of strength that does not need to announce itself loudly. It speaks through presence. Through having withstood pressure, impact and repetition.

Test of Time is een origineel mixed media kunstwerk op papier, met een vuistachtige rots in het midden van zware branding en golven, omringd door een sterk getextureerde zee die in de voorgrond bijna van het papier lijkt af te druipen.

Midden in de compositie staat de rots: krachtig, compact en bijna uitdagend van vorm. De vorm doet denken aan een gebalde vuist, alsof de natuur zelf hier een stil gebaar van kracht maakt. Daaromheen beukt de zee in voortdurende beweging.

De golven zijn opgebouwd uit gelaagde mixed media en structuur, waardoor het water een tastbare, bijna fysieke aanwezigheid krijgt. Op de voorgrond lijkt de branding naar beneden te stromen en te druipen, waardoor de grens tussen beeld en materiaal vervaagt. De zee blijft niet netjes op het papier. Ze lijkt in beweging te blijven.

Juist die spanning tussen stevigheid en beweging vormt de kern van Test of Time.

Voor mij gaat Test of Time over uithoudingsvermogen, veerkracht en een vorm van kracht die zichzelf niet luid hoeft te bewijzen. Die kracht spreekt door aanwezigheid. Door het vermogen om druk, impact en herhaling te doorstaan.

Het voelbare oppervlak geeft het werk extra diepte en energie. Het licht valt steeds anders op de textuur van de golven, waardoor nieuwe details zichtbaar worden en het werk vanuit elke hoek net iets anders leeft.
